July 4th in Indiana

We spent the first week of July in Indiana while Ernie worked at IU's soccer camp. The kids and I went with Aunt Kim, Katie, Andrew, and Alicia to the Symphony on the green in Anderson the first night we were there. Woody is already showing his patriotism: There were a lot of people there, especially for a Sunday night. The symphony was really good, but the fireworks were a little cheesy. The best part was that there was a playground behind us that kept Samantha entertained for a long time. The only downside was that older kids thought it was a good idea to try and trample the little kids.

We spent a lot of the week at the playgrounds around town. Samantha had a good time playing with Andrew, while Woody chilled in the shade. There was a water tower nearby that had a Tiger on it, and Samantha absolutely fell in love with it. She kept telling it hello and that she was coming. She now points out water towers whenever we see one.

Getting ready to go to watch the fireworks in Muncie. They actually have a really good show that is choreographed to music on the local radio station. Ernie was pleasantly surprised. She looks so innocent, but we all know better. She still goes nonstop ALL of the time. It is a good day if you actually wear her out! Samantha has also begun to enjoy her independence, whether you are ready or not.

Woody has been hanging out in his Bumbo chair. He is still a very happy baby that loves to watch his big sister. You can kind of see his hair in this picture, which is still almost white. Here is his USA hat in the spirit of the night. He had a good time with everyone.

Samantha loves her cousin Jacob, and did not want to leave his side the whole night. She sat on his lap and watched the fireworks. She now expects fireworks every night, and loves to yell kaboom. Uncle Jerry took Woody duty during the show. Nothing phases Woody, not even 20 minutes of fireworks.

We had to wait for the shuttle to get back to the car. It was a good idea to take the shuttle, but not to ride it home. They only had two buses, which left us waiting for a long time to get back. We went to our friend's wedding in Bloomington on the last leg of our trip. Woody and Samantha stayed with Aunt Kim, and saw more fireworks! Ernie and I went to the wedding and had a great "adult" time. We saw many old friends and enjoyed our brief stop in Bloomington.
We got pictures of the bride and groom, but obvioulsy not at the same time. People do not age much in B-town!
