Spring Soccer

Woody on day one of the tournament enjoyed snoozing for the first part in his stroller. Most of the time I have him in the front carrier. It is easier to chase Samantha without the bulky stroller.
Samantha enjoyed her first ring pop. There was a group of kids that were eating them for about an hour, until I caved. She was being really good and just kept asking them about their ring pops. I now hear about ring pops about once an hour, but she has realized that they are a "special" treat. Woody enjoyed a break from the carrier when we went to the car for something to drink. He enjoyed some milk, and Samantha enjoyed some music.
You can see that Samantha tries to help her daddy coach. Ernie's U12 team won second place in their division, and even got medals.
Samantha had a long day at the park and fell asleep on the 15 minute drive home. Of course she was wearing daddy's medal! The nap did not last past the car ride, but it did look promising.

Proud Papa

Ernie tried on the front carrier and then took them for a short walk. He shows them off whenever possible.
Samantha is describing the park to Woody. She cannot wait until she can drag him around with her.
A usual day of wall climbing for Samantha. The dress is a disguise to make you think she is an innocent little girl. Poor Baxter is treated like her stepping stool daily, and Woody is catching a few Z's.

Woody is starting to look more and more like a little boy. He is very long, and is growing daily. He gets his fair share of fresh air with Samantha.

Finally, caught up on posts

She does finally wear down a little after a long day! We still went to the soccer park later to ensure a good night's sleep.

Samantha had a good time with the doctor gloves. She finds the exam room a fun place to discover things. She enjoyed trying to test my reflexes like the doctor. She was a fan favorite in all the departments we visited!

I finally caught up on the past few weeks. We have been busy and Ernie has had more soccer events. We spent the day at the Kirklin Clinic yesterday, because I had my 6 week checkup. It turned into a circus and we ended up at Neurology. To make a long story short, I cannot lift my left arm. I most likely have Parsonage Turner Syndrome, and have started medication. I have an MRI and other testing on Monday, and it is linked to childbirth. We will know more next week. So for now, I am an one armed mom.

Parks!

Samantha enjoys going to all the different parks around Birmingham. We try to mix it up and wear her out at the same time. Woody usually naps, but we know he will be running around them this time next year.

Woody's First Bath!

Woody's belly button finally fell out last Wednesday, so it was time for a real bath! He loves the water just as much as Samantha. She stills loves to be around him and likes to help out. It is funny to watch her play with the baby toys, considering she has never really been into playing with toys. She would rather run and climb!

Nana's visit

Nana came for a visit this week. She took Samantha to the McWane Science Center, shopping, and on walks around the neighborhood. They both were tired by the end of the day! Samantha loves having visitors to spoil her.
Woody had his one month checkup, and is 9 lbs 4 oz/22 inches long. He is doing great and growing like a weed.
Here is a photo of Samantha in the Children's Emergency Room. She decided to try and eat some of Nana's diabetes pills, which then in turn made us spend a day in the hospital. They had to induce vomitting and then check her glucose levels every hour. It was an interesting time, and we hope we never have to go through it again. She is doing just fine and has returned to her normal spunky self.

As you can see, she is still keeping us busy. She loves to do art, but keeping on the paper can be an issue.

Smith Family

Aunt Kim and Katie were our next round of visitors. Samantha had a great time being spoiled by the both of them, and Woody enjoyed the consant care. We went to Vulcan Park for a scenic look over the city, and many other parks for Samantha to conquer.
